Caldeira Velha ( Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel)
What you see is a little piece of a hidden paradise!
This is a natural warm waterfall and you have a small pool where you can relax and enjoy the view around you.
It's easy to find it, just go towards Ribeira Grande and after that the only thing you need to do is follow the sign towards « Lagoa do Fogo».
On the way up to the Fire Lake ( the one that it's presented bellow this post), you will see a small parking space on your left side and in front of you it's the entrance to Caldeira Velha.
Park your car and take a small walk through the nature, enjoy all it's endemic vegetation such as the huge and wonderful tree Ferns . On that same path, there's one boiling sulfur small pool , it's an example of what can be seen in Furnas but in a larger number and sizes.
Course, there's no need to say that I have been here several times and each time the water has different temperatures but never too hot.
They have locker rooms near that pool and it's free entrance .
